Schwinn 231 Recumbent Exercise Bike
Save money on monthly gym fees and get yourself in shape with the compact, comfortable Schwinn 231 recumbent exercise bike. The 231 boasts all the high-quality features of the Schwinn 213, but adds several extras, including a nicer, easier-to-read instrument panel with a three-position angle adjustment, a better cooling fan, a slightly lower pedal height that produces a more comfortable riding position, and an easy step-through frame. And that doesn't even account for all the essentials, which range from 16 resistance levels to handlebars with an integrated heart rate monitor built into the grip. Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.
The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.
Customer Review: Good but smelly
Schwinn has made a good product at a decent price, but it's not perfect. First the good points. This bike is solid and quiet. It really feels sturdy when you're peddling away due to the wide base. It has a great back-lit screen that is clear and easy to read. And of course like all recumbent workout bikes this is great for watching TV, reading, or even playing Xbox games while working out. There are some features I would have liked. This unit has no memory to save the results of your previous workouts like the more costly units. It would be nice to see a few progress charts of your progress, and have the computer suggest programs and set target speeds based on your previous results. They really need to take advantage of the computer by adding a guided exercise program. The water bottle holder is adequate but since the bottle is on its side you need to make sure to close your bottle or else it will leak. The unit is very tall and long, so it doesn't pack away into a corner very well. Also the computer monitor stand does not raise or lower (it only tilts) so it can get in the way of the TV. And finally, the rubber seat material smells terrible. There is a strong, musky odor that hasn't gone away after a week. I called Nautilus for support and they suggested spraying it with Armor All Protectant to seal it up so hopefully that will do the trick. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and can feel my health improving already. It's a great way to combat laziness while watching TV.
Customer Review: Schwinn 231 Best Recumbent Bike I've Ever Owned.
Pros: I have tried two other makes of recumbent bikes and I got to say that this is the best one out there especially for this price. The bike is built solid, like you'd find in a gym and if you didn't already know it's really made by Nautilus for Schwinn. The bike's magnetic resistance makes workouts completely silent, so watching a movie/tv or reading is a real joy. I find that if I lose myself in something else I'll forget I'm working out and can go a lot longer. The bike is loaded with a lot of different profiles for all different types of workouts and if you don't like any you can program your own, that feature was not available on the other two bikes I tried. The bike was not that hard to put together, just patience and following the directions and it goes together really nice. Cons: I would like to be able to adjust the angle or tilt on the back rest, but the lumbar support makes up for that short coming. The integrated fan that is built into the 231's control panel is not really that useful, but the control unit/display it's self has a lot more functions and is easier to see than the Schwinn 230 model, so to me it was worth the little bit extra for the added features and visibility. I was a little scared about ordering something so big and heavy through the mail, that it would arrive damaged, but I'm happy to say like most people in the reviews "it arrive in perfect condition and in only 7 days from ordering it". I purchase the bike during February fitness month when it was $ dollars off plus free shipping, that was a steal, Thanks Amazon.com.
Nearly ninety-nine years after the first Tour de France where Maurice Garin won his remarkable 2,428 kilometers in 95 hours and 37 seconds, it remains widely accepted this leggy sport will be here among us for another ninety-nine years more.
Here are some ways to enjoy yourself to immortalize this sport efficiently and give to your own growing a directness of significant character.
*Give A Push To The Last Drop To Your Heart
Confront your soul with a healthier, sexier drive. Dress like Lance Armstrong. To get ready, you just drink your Tropical orange juice and jump on. So don't even think of trying to save a few minutes watching Jerry Springer or those silly Real Television Shows: Take your shorts, and then your lightweight Windtunnel jersey, your shoes along with TSD socks, your Briko powerful sunglasses along with your gloves, your knee warmers and the all ready-pads gears, and finally your helmet.
*Release Your Stress By Paddling
Note: Stress is defined as an emotional, intellectual or physical reaction to change or demand. There are different stresses one of them is Cardiovascular disease. Experts claim that stress is the most commonly reported risk factor for heart disease. Depression, anxiety, and low levels of perceived social support have been associate with premature mortality after a heart attack. For more please see my article "What is Bike-Stress Demand?"
So let us start.
Half-heatedly passive-aggressive personalities have established their stress by working harder and make whining complaints about headche, abnormal rates, respiration problems, blood pressure, and obsessive behavior, and anxiety. In general, these resistant behaviors of the passive-aggressive personality treat are best viewed as overworked and ineffective coping strategies. You are born human and grow up in a society with that cliche that stated the more higher you move in, the more riskier your health is going to be.
So, let us break the routine! Any doctor will tell you that the more you run and pad you can lead to less stress, high blood pressure, heart attack, and other dangerous diseases. You can be like a gold Olympic Johnson or like a mountain climber Jean Strab. But either one you will be mashed off, or you will be a low-stress die free and joy the hue of Southern panorama, if you do not start to take care of yourself.
*Cut Your Deadly Common Habit In Half
It rather get starting on the die bike-cycling than find out how it works. Make it a point of learning and not a point of reflection. Let all reflections to people who like write. If you start doing it you soon become a star.
Warning: You should not pad in any old socks or dirty shorts. You also should not use old helmet.
You should cycle in healthy conditions as the way you eat: Bread, cereal, rice, and pasta. You need a lot of vegetables. As well as milk, yogourt, and cheese. Heavy stuff like meat, poultry, fish. Also dry beams, eggs and nuts, and fats, oils and sweets. You do not confuse them by chocolate bars and peanut butter. No! The healthier ones and you can find them in pharmacy shelves as Albertson markets or those that are in your community.
Please stay away from the junky foods!
*Put Yourself On Lance Armstrong's Footsteps
You can imitate him in a kind of silly ways. So what? It is a good choice and a good example what he has done in 1999 and repeated it in the year that follow.
Probably you are going to woke up in the morning with a feeling of delight like this: "Jesus! I feel like I am a champion!"
And this happened to Greg LeMond, the one who won the 1986 Tour de France.
Obviously it is your time, and one of the important principles of letting go with all your bad experience and be a really champion is that we are so stuffed for easier picks. Like if I am fat I can get a diet pill and swallow it by watching television or driving around your neighborhood or pay $40,000.00 dollars to a surgeon to do for you.
You can do it, and you do not need to have three years of sufficient training on bike, as Mr. Kays says, to win a Tour de France.
So take your bike and helmet, and let's doing it.
*Working As Team
Two factors influence the outcome of a solid foundation: Trust, Frienship, and Love. The first is the degree of insights that an individual must have and the understanding which it has been moralized. So there is very much room for cooperation of social awareness to cope with critical eyes what you are doing. This include your wife, children, friends, or those you trust. All can be a foundation of solid ground, which all of them can help each other to win the growing of a cominunity in need or any societal gathering or honoring ourselves as a big family.
The second is the accountability or the commitment that links to an endless but countertransference phenomeno who you are and those with whom have such gratification and relaxation of being with you. Atttached to it is the pool of ration, the argument, the communication, and the seek of interaction along the background that you and the others attend to accomplish.
CLARIFICATION: Love.
It is the light in which you are able constantly to move forward, illuminating the way of given and the grace in the relationship and the paramount foundation of a winning team.
*Set A Goal
For a true happiness, a growth, a peaceful and consistency, for the interest of this sport and your health, there is no barrier between you and I, because this vision of feeling and working as unit happens spontaneously , and because there is already so much interaction and togetherness taking place in our group well-being.
